Located in north-central Idaho, the area combines the charm of small-town living with the beauty of the Palouse landscape. The area experiences a classic four-season climate typical of north-central Idaho, with warm summers, crisp autumns, cool winters, and mild, green springs. Summers are generally warm and dry, with daytime temperatures often ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s and cooler evenings. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and vibrant color to the rolling farmland and forested hills, while spring typically arrives with moderate rainfall. HISTORY:

The area has a rich agricultural history dating back to the late 1800s, when early homesteaders were drawn to the fertile soils and abundant natural resources of north-central Idaho. Settlers established farms and small ridge communities throughout the rolling hills of the Palouse, where dryland grain farming quickly became a way of life. Kendrick developed as the primary local hub after the arrival of the railroad in the 1890s, which helped farmers transport wheat, barley, and other crops grown throughout the surrounding countryside. The town grew to support nearby farming and timber communities with stores, services, and schools, many of which continue to serve the region today.
