Located in remote northwest Lauderdale County, the Waterloo Recreation and Homesite offers excellent deer and turkey hunting for those who want to enjoy secluded recreational opportunities. The recently select harvest areas have increased deer browse and bugging areas for turkey. Most of the remaining timber is oak and the harvested areas could easily be maintained as savannas to maximize hunting opportunities. The skid trails created to harvest the timber could be converted to permanent roads and can be used for ATV riding, horseback riding, or hiking.
