Access is either by New Mexico Highway 130 or by Sunspot Highway (6563). Traveling to Cloudcroft from the cabin is 17.3 miles by way of NM 130 and 18.6 miles via Sunspot Highway.
The ranch is an outdoorsman paradise with fishing and hunting on the ranch together with mountain recreation in the surrounding Lincoln National Forest. According to the owner one elk permit is allowed with this ranch.
