Needham was built prior to 1774 as a home for Judge Creed Taylor and his wife Sarah. Needham Law School, which was established here in 1821, was the second institution of this character in the state & President John Tyler attended school here. This 2-story home includes ten foot high ceilings, 4 masonry arched opening fireplaces w/original flutings & dentil moldings and the original heart of pine floors. Interior doors have wooden pegs & the cross and bible pattern in raised panels. The four original rooms have waist high wainscoting and plaster above with a strip of picture molding in between. The 2 chimneys are Flemish Bond. The spacious lawn, 2-stall horse barn & low price are bonuses!
