Property Summary:
The Dunn Ranch is 358.52 acres located in Wichita County, Texas. North central Texas has always been farm and ranch country, with the introduction of mesquite, range management has become of the utmost importance for the cattleman. The Dunn ranch has implemented brush control management practices to open up the canopy to provide sufficient sunlight to reach the ground for forage growth and increased grazing potential. The ranch is divided into 3 pastures with cross fencing in place transversing the property from east to west, within each pasture there are earthen stock tanks for livestock watering. There are a couple of small traps on the southern end of the property with small pens and a chute for working cattle. On the northern end of the property not all of the mesquite brush was removed so there is ample cover for holding wildlife on the ranch.

Water:
There are five earthen stock tanks on the property making water available to livestock throughout the ranch. If you want to rotate grazing pressure from pasture to pasture you should have the water available to do so. These tanks could also be used for recreation as well, with fishing potential, and possibly an occasional waterfowl hunt as well. The water also supplies the needs of the wildlife on the ranch.
Wildlife:
The Dunn Ranch is home to white-tailed deer, hogs, and turkey. The ranch has plenty of mesquite cover on the north end of the ranch and pockets of cover throughout the central portion of the ranch for deer and hogs. With the reduced mesquite canopy allowing the sun to reach the ground, the forb production can be very beneficial to all wildlife as a food source as well. The stock tanks could also provide a good dove shoot as well when the birds are plentiful.
