Big Barrel Farm & Vineyard is one of the oldest modern-day (post-prohibition) vineyards located in the lush Willamette Valley. This 28.46 acres of prime farmland has been held by a single family since 1880! As the third oldest vineyard in Oregon, and after generations of care and attentive management, this stunning acreage continues to yield high qualities grapes. The simple, straightforward and sustainable cultural practices in managing the vineyard have also contributed to healthy and balanced vines over time.
Of the approximate 13 acres of cultivated vineyard, the current grape varieties include: 6 acres Pinot Noir, 3.5 acres Pinot Gris, 1.5 acres Gewurtztraminer, 1 acre White Riesling/Sylvaner and 1 acre Chardonnay. The Sylvaner in particular is a white grape grown primarily in Germany and is used to produce some of Germanys most elegant wines.

The property also boasts 2 artesian wells, one of which has been further developed. Additionally, with low elevation, southerly and easterly slopes and well-drained soils, the currently uncultivated acreage offers ideal growing conditions for other agricultural ventures.
