There is no evidence of recent timber harvesting, however I would guess that some harvesting was done along the old town road on the southern border ~20-30 years ago.A tributary to Stony Creek runs through the southeast corner of the property. It is there that you’ll find evidence of a healthy beaver population. Their dam on the eastern boundary is roughly 5’ high. It proved to be a great crossing site adjacent to an old farm pond dike now maintained by the beaver as well. Stony Creek flows southwest into the more popular Butternut Creek, just minutes from the property and famous for large and smallmouth bass, walleye, chain pickerel, rock bass and perch. This property lends itself to some fantastic recreational opportunities including hunting. Otsego County’s adult buck and antlerless deer take densities fall between 6 and 8 per square mile.
