The habitat of Springpond is managed primarily for wild quail, with established food plots and feed trails throughout most of the acreage. The owner keeps meticulous records of the number of coveys and population of wild birds. Records of every hunt and the game taken over the years are maintained by the owner as well as detailed management records of feed schedules. Of course not every acre of the property is used as wild quail habitat, many areas are prime Whitetail/Turkey habitat. Whatever your preferred game to hunt is, the wildlife is here along with the habitat to support which ever species is your primary focus.

The main lodge is nearly 5000 sq.ft. with 3 bedrooms, all with private baths and 2 additional half baths - one located in the gun room/study and the other is located just off of the bar/den area. The classic dog-trot layout of the lodge is ideal for entertaining family/friends or to conduct informal business meetings. The dog-trot lay out has the bedrooms on two corners of the home and the third and fourth corners used as kitchen/formal dining room and gun-room/study and climate controlled wine storage respectively. The dog-trot central section of the home is an informal den that features a stone two sided fireplace flanked by over an stuffed leather couch/chairs and many plantation art pieces and antique furnishings. The den opens into the recently constructed section of the home that consist of a bar and 1400 sq,ft. entertaining hall that boast cathedral ceilings with exposed custom milled wooden beams and custom milled wide plank wood floors. The fireplace in the hall was built using old coble stones pulled from the streets of Birmingham Alabama and serves as a central focus and gathering point.

The guest/caretakers house is a more rustic structure than the main lodge, however it is a very sound a live able home with 3 bedrooms/2 baths, fireplace, livingroom/kitchen and screened porch. Located nearby are the grain bins, kennels and dog run pens as well as the 8 stall equipment barn and works shop.
