This is a managed hunting tract that is set up and ready to take you into the 2020 season! It has an implemented food plot and habitat plan by Steve Bartylla, an outdoor writer and consultant. In his plan, Steve designed the property to allow the hunter easy access in and out of the farm without disturbing deer bedded on the property. Another main objective was to establish several staging food plot areas so that the hunter could have an opportunity to see the mature bucks in daylight as they traveled to the surrounding destination ag fields. This required the landowner to hinge cut around the entire perimeter of the big 1.3-acre food plot field. The hinge cutting created a screen for the bucks approaching the field so that they couldn’t see into the plot, forcing them to step out into the open. Also, Steve advised the landowner to hinge cut his access path into the Redneck blind so that he could enter and exit without being seen. To add another hunting option, they installed a plot along the northern boundary and opened up access in a “horseshoe” shape to make access in and out very simple. This smaller plot is about ¼ acre but its location right along the creek makes it an ideal stopping point as the deer hit the large crop field to the north. The area of timber in the center of the farm was designated as a sanctuary and Steve advised not to enter this property. This leaves a small area of timber out by the paved road that would make the ideal camping site. Most of this area is in a flood plain so you wouldn’t want to build anything permanent but a gravel pad with utilities would make it a low-key spot to camp and hunt. So, if you’re in the market for an affordable hunting farm set up to hunt and harvest big deer, give the listing agents a call.
