Properties this size are hard to come by in this area. At the dead-end of 141st Lane, this great property begins. Right away you will notice a dense stand of hardwood trees near the access area. This is one of the potential building sites. This stand of hardwood trees is also a great bedding area for deer and roost location for turkeys. An established trail system will lead you up the hill through a dense stand of upland grasses and new growth oak trees. On the top of the hill is the second potential building site. This location looks south over 50 acres of wetlands and terraced hills. The terraced hills are populated with native grasses, American plum thickets, and oak savannah. Mature cottonwood trees line the bottom of the hills as a border between the upland habitat and the wetlands. As you follow the trail across the hilltops you will cross a county ditch and head up another bluff to the east side of the property. This portion of the wetland has a small island covered with oak trees. This location has historically been a popular place for whitetail deer and encountering nice bucks. The eastern hilltop is also covered with new growth oak trees, plum thickets, and native grasses. The north end of the property is more open with more upland habitat and fewer trees. The north end is going to make a great place to hunt pheasants throughout the fall and into December. The north end is also a sleeper for whitetails, most of the thermal cover is in this area and will make a great bedding area. Approximately 144 acres are enrolled in the Re-Invest in Minnesota (RIM) Program. This program is a permanent conservation easement. The easement protects the current habitat but allows for further conservation enhancements such as native grass management, forestry management, and planting food plots.
