Welcome to a fantastic recreational tract located in Cullman County just east of the Sipsey Fork River! The property is located approximately one mile east of the Sipsey Fork River along the south side of Alabama Highway 69. There is roughly a half of a mile of road frontage along Alabama Highway 69 with a locked gate off of the highway at the main entrance. Upon entry to the property, you will find a mixed landscape of habitat that is well-suited for the abundance of deer and turkey that call the property home. Boyd Creek traverses the property and gently flows downstream into the Sipsey Fork River. There are also a couple of wet-weather branches that originate from Mary Ann Hollow and Barn Hollow. The topography of the tract varies with relatively flat fields and fingers along Boyd Creek and Mary Ann Hollow to more rolling hardwood and pine ridges along the eastern side of the property. There are three prominent fields along Boyd Creek with roughly 18+/- acres of open land that lays well for food plots, dove fields or recreational shooting. Seven additional food plots are strategically located throughout the property offering multiple stand sites within the draws and ridges in-between. A good internal road system traverses the tract and provides access throughout as well as miles of recreational atv & utv riding. There are several types of hardwoods of various ages located throughout the property with multiple hardwood drains, ridges and funnels that create great pinch-points and bottlenecks throughout transition areas of the tract. This area is well-known to produce some of the largest whitetail deer in the state! In 2013, a 161" 8-point was harvested roughly two miles from the property and was the largest deer in the youth, ladies and 8-point divisions that year. The Sipsey Fork River offers several options for recreation such as fishing, boating or canoeing. The State of Alabama stocks rainbow trout below the dam of Smith Lake once a month roughly three miles north of the property. Canoe or kayak fishing in this stretch is popular for a variety of sport fish. This area boasts tremendous recreational possibilities while still maintaining a relatively close proximity to Birmingham and Huntsville. The property is shown by appointment only.
