Next door to the Camp Floyd Commissary is the Stagecoach Inn, a two-story adobe and frame hotel built by John Carson in 1858. The Stagecoach Inn was the first stop south of Salt Lake City on the Overland Stage Route. Seventeen saloons and other entertainment locations catered to the needs of a military population.

And the Pony Express riders rode through Fairfield! Camp Floyd was one of the stops on the way through Utah.
