This property is prime deer habitat. There is a powerline running through the property towards the northern part of the property which had many deer trails crossing the powerline cut heading north and south. The location of the property is tucked in with fields to the north, south, east and west. Also to the west the river pinches game in on one side as does the giant spruce swamp off to the east a ways. Looking at an aerial you can quickly see the natural funnel that’s created by these barriers. The location is a dead giveaway of where many of the deer in the area will choose to bed. Whether it was bedding locations tucked under some cedars, trails or old rubs from last fall sign was present nearly everywhere I went on the place. There is also a creek up towards the NW corner of the property. Adding to the already good deer bedding cover and habitat this creek had a couple really nice trails near it. Through much of the property its a mix of ash, aspen, cedar and brush. Some high and some low which makes the deer feel very secure. The SE corner has an excellent area among beautiful Norway pines that would be a great building site for a cabin or to clear out for a camper. Besides deer the property would be excellent for bear, grouse and the occasional duck or two in the creek. Speaking of grouse I happened to get close a nest and had a very protective grouse charge me run circles around my feet. After about a minute and half she decided I wasn't a threat. Great property for hunting or cabin. There is also loads of public lands nearby and lakes to pull a boat to for a day of fishing. This is an excellent property in a great location.
