The whitetail in this part of southwest Texas are generally more heavily horned than typical Hill Country deer as result of generations of crossbreeding with nearby south Texas deer. Field dressed carcasses of whitetail commonly exceed 150 pounds. Exotic species include axis, sika and fallow deer, aoudad sheep, and the occasional blackbuck antelope and elk. Feral hogs are present, but not in overwhelming numbers. Exotics, hogs and predators allow year-round hunting enjoyment.

Neighbored by other large ranches which include a 14,000 acre place that is bow hunted only and an 11,000 acre family ranch that is primarily a cattle operation.
