Kingwood Forestry Services, Inc. has been authorized to manage the sale of four different tracts with 602.79 total acres, more or less, located in Columbia County, Arkansas. The property is being sold by sealed bid sale on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 A. M.
The Pigeon Roost Creek Tract is located approximately 9.5 miles east of Emerson, AR and 9.5 miles northeast of Haynesville, LA. The timber on this property consist of approximately 393 acres of planted pine that has been first thinned, 68 acres of bottomland hardwood sawtimber and pulpwood, and 4 acre of mature natural pine sawtimber. The remainder of the acreage is roads, either gravel or logging roads. The exact age of the planted pine is not known but is estimated to be between 25-30 years old. Per the USDA NRCS Web Soil Survey the predominant soils on the property are moderately well drained fine to very fine sandy loam soils that exhibit a weighted average native site index for loblolly pine of eighty-five (85) feet (base age 50).
The timber inventory was conducted by Kingwood Forestry Services, Inc. in August 2017. The inventory cruise of the merchantable timber consisted of 170, 15 BAF sample points. Trees were tallied in 1 inch diameter classes by species and product. Volumes were calculated using locally accepted volume tables. Research Parcel InformationAt the intersection of U.S. Hwy 82 and AR State Hwy 98 which is located at Village Junction, Arkansas, travel south on AR Hwy 98 approximately 11 miles to the intersection with Columbia CR 16 on the left (Mt. Israel Church is located at this intersection). Turn left onto Columbia CR 16 and continue traveling south for approximately 1.2 miles to gravel road 482 and Kingwood Forestry Services Land for Sale sign on the west (right) side of Columbia CR 16.
