Pettit Ranch consists of 4,960 total acres, of which 4,320 are deeded, and is in the heart of the Sandhills of McPherson County, Nebraska. The ranch is just a short four miles north of Highway 92 on a paved county road. The ranch is highlighted with a large number of sub-irrigated meadow acres, which allows the ranch to run up to 500 cows on a year-round basis. The sub-irrigated meadows can be utilized for haying or grazing to provide multiple operational considerations. Water is in abundance due to the Ogallala Aquifer, which is the source of year-round creeks and ponds on the ranch, along with 23 solar wells with stock tanks. Wildlife is abundant and includes deer, turkeys, grouse, and waterfowl. The Pettit Ranch is a solid Sandhill Ranch that has been in the family since 1904 and is very impressive with the carrying capacity due to the sub-irrigated meadows.
