Located 5 miles west of Tie Siding on the Wyoming/Colorado border, Fish Creek Ranch Preserve is 4,242 acres set against an impressive backdrop of pine and aspen covered mountains, rolling grassland, fresh cut golden hay meadows and four private ponds. The Preserve combines the best of Wyoming ranch and mountain life. This specific 35-acre property boasts pine trees, a large aspen grove, and a private pond hidden within a valley that protects it from the wind.

In addition, The Preserve has coveted adjacent access to Roosevelt National Forest for hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.

General Operations

Fish Creek Ranch Preserve is a covenant-controlled community developed in 1996. The homeowner’s association oversees the operations and finances of the Preserve. A full time ranch manager cares for the 3,752 acres of common area, a community barn and horses trails, ponds, fences, gates, trash, snow plow, wildlife management and roads ensuring year round access. All homes and structures meet design review standards to maintain the western character of the Preserve.

Region & Climate

Set at an elevation ranging from 8,000 to 8,620 feet, the Preserve enjoys southern Wyoming’s complimentary four seasons. Spring rains bring green grasses and new wildlife, sunny summer days are cooled by dark star-filled skies, crisp fall mornings and long days are ideal for fly fishing, and snow blanketed winter days are a chance to snowshoe or catch up on a favorite book. The Preserve is conveniently located to catch a Wyoming Cowboy fall football game, the Laramie Jubilee Days rodeo, or a quick trip to the Snowy Range Ski area and snowmobiling in the Medicine Bow Mountains.

History

Tie Siding is named for the 19th century lumberjacks (tie hacks) who harvested trees for the railroad ties that accelerated western expansion. The Legacy at Fish Creek Ranch Preserve is the original homestead that now shares the ranch with thirteen other western enthusiasts.

Location

Fish Creek Ranch Preserve is 18 miles south of Laramie, home of the University of Wyoming, and seven miles from the northern Colorado border and 47 miles from Fort Collins, Colorado. The Medicine Bow mountains and Snowy Range Ski area is less than an hour to the west. Denver International Airport (DEN) is less than two hours to the south.
