Michigan Lake Superior Property For Sale on Point Abbaye. The Point Abbaye Peninsula is a 12.3-mile-long peninsula that juts out into Lake Superior. This body of land is located in central Baraga County, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This boreal ecosystem is bounded by the Keweenaw Bay on the west and the Huron Bay on the east. Considered a very special place by the Ojibwa who fished, hunted, and camped here for generations, it remained mostly untouched until the late 1800s. A forked tree located in the site clearing in the middle of the property may be an Ojibwa trail or site marker. Point Abbaye has several Indian sites along the point and it was common to mark them by bending trees.
