Six water wells have been developed with solar powered pumps and 4000-gallon water tanks providing ample water supply for deer during the drought. Drain pans below each tank keep an ample water supply for dove, quail, turkey, and other birds. One well has a large generator and can produce a large quantity of water in a short period. Most wells are 37 feet deep and average 95-100 gallons per minute.
Native forage that wildlife thrive on has strengthened all over the ranch. Chittum Trees and Prickly Ash are craved by deer and are abundant. Native plants such as Queens Delight and grasses such as Big and Little Bluestem can be found throughout the property. Big Bluestem is one of nature's highest quality and most palatable grasses and Little Bluestem provides an excellent nesting source for quail.
The Red River and the various water holes on the ranch have created tremendous duck hunting over the years. Record deer and turkey are harvested here each year. Quail are increasing in response to the excellent plant and forage management.
Dove can be seen everywhere but this ranch is just a few miles from Oklahoma's famous Hackberry Flats that is some of the best dove hunting in the country.
