Area: Meade, KS is famously known as the home of the Dalton Gang. The Dalton Gang was a notorious band of robbers from the old west days who were later made famous through stories, TV and cinema. The area is huge for agriculture and hunting opportunities with many places of historical significance. Approximately 12 miles southwest of the historic hotel is the Meade State Lake and State Park. This oasis on the high plains was one of the first state lakes commissioned by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks.
