An addition was put on in approximately 1990 and the cabin serves a group of about 8 hunters. It is heated with wood and an oil space heater, LP is used for the stove and for gas lights, but the cabin is also wired with electricity provided by a generator. An outdoor toilet sits next to the woodshed, not very far from the cabin.Monster oaks are found on the property as well as nice maple, aspen, butternut, and hickory. The property has been enrolled in the Managed Forest Closed program for many years; that MFL program was just renewed as of January 1, 2022. If you would prefer to remove the property from the MFL program the timing is great, but if you desire to pay low taxes and still control who hunts your land, you might want to consider leaving the property in the MFL program.Find your way to the game pictures, many of the big deer were taken from the seller’s land, a number were taken off neighboring properties. As you know, big bucks have large territories and their genetics can be found in an even larger radius. The J&H Game Farm borders this land. As they release pheasants for training dogs it is likely that you will see pheasants on a regular basis, an added bonus of owning a large property near other large property holders. Since the neighbors enjoy seeing large racked bucks you are likely to enjoy what the land is truly capable of producing. And since the main body of this hunting property is located 3 tenths of a mile south of Highway 156, you can hunt all the way to your borders. You have found a property that can likely provide an opportunity to shoot an older buck, think about that. For the best description of what this property can provide for you be sure to contact Terry Patrick, the listing agent. I look forward to hearing from you and walking the land with you.
