The south 15 acres consists of primarily flooded timber and holds a large Wood duck and Mallard duck population as well as Geese. The corn fields bordering this land directly to the west of the property are feeding grounds for these birds and they are here in very good numbers. In fact a duck and goose outfitter from the Saginaw Bay area tried to lease this ground to bring paid hunters to hunt these birds. As I walked this ground I saw upwards of 40 ducks rise off the water here at 2 pm in the afternoon several of which were Wood Ducks. The timber water is an average of 4-12 inches deep all year around with very little fluctuation Making it perfect habitat for this waterfowl population. The 65 acres to the north consists of large timber several food plots and bedding areas for the Whitetail Deer and Turkey that make this home. The deer numbers are high as QDM has been in force for about 6 years with an eye on harvesting 4 yr. olds and older. During my walk of the property on 10/23 I saw several scrapes open and rubs as well. I also bounced out a basket rack 8 point from the edge of one of the food plots. I also jumped 4 woodcock from the trail/road edge that leads from south to north along the edge of the parcel. The turkeys appear to roost along the corn field and drainage ditch edges. There were several areas where the turkeys had scratched large bare spots in the leaves in the search for food. There are also some areas to set a camper or to even build a cabin.
