This beautiful suite is filled with views to the east and west, and is located above the Loire Room. A light and bright space, it is an unusually luxurious bonus for an innkeepers apartment. After strolling through the charming craftsman interior, the beautifully kept property offers a continuation of the peaceful ambiance. Featuring an extensive culinary garden as well as a demonstration vineyard for chardonnay, pinot noir and chenin blanc grapes, the property also offers the potential for several acres of producing vineyard as the southern section is at a higher elevation and is comprised of Willakenzie soils.
From the guest suites to the common areas, Le Puy creates a relaxing and quiet environment from which to enjoy the serene Oregon Wine Country. With panoramic views and vistas of the Coastal range, Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson, your guests will find that there are many choices at the inn for taking in the sights, smells and sounds of the countryside. Relax or mediate in the idyllic setting, listening to the water feature or walking through the patios, sunflower field and gardens. Whether sipping a glass of wine, reading a good book, or just reconnecting with that special someone, Le Puy offers a four-season environment.
Beyond the bed and breakfast business, the property also features a 2,200 sq ft barn that offers additional versatility, though it is currently used as a rustic event room and storage/shop as it has electrical installed, roughed-in plumbing, and framing for a bathroom. Additionally, the property's well produces 30 GPM, which would likely be necessary if the property were to be converted for winery use. The 9.9 KW solar photo voltaic system would further help in maintaining low electrical costs should the business be expanded.
In keeping with the peaceful ambiance of the interior and grounds, Le Puy has been managed with a continuous dedication to sustainability. From the food offered to the products used, this property encompasses its mission to be an authentic eco-inn. The facilities incorporate sustainability into 3 main elements: environment, economic and social equity. Just a few examples include installing green power (a solar photovoltaic system including an electric vehicle charging station), providing local, sustainable, organic products and food, promoting local activities and businesses, educating guests in green living and donating to charities.
The philosophy with which the inn was renovated was centered on the owners experience as LEED accredited architects. Trim work, doors, hardware and accessories were re-used, as well as high-efficiency lighting and water-saving plumbing fixtures installed. In addition to re-using and recycling materials, the inn prides itself in providing reusable supplies and encouraging staff and guests to recycle. Le Puy is mindful of doing everything to eliminate waste and to live sustainably.
Though the serenity of the country surrounds Le Puy, downtown Newberg remains just a short bike ride away while vineyards, wineries and the Portland Metro Area are all within convenient commuting distance, making it readily accessible for guests as well as commuting inn keepers.
