Meadows native Garrison grass meadows produce around 150 tons of hay a year. Some of the fields have been leveled for more efficient watering via the flood irrigation ditches. Additionally, regrowth on the fields has enabled lessees to run approximately 100 cow/calf pairs on the property from June through October. Meadows are cross-fenced with good access routes.
Irrigation System - The meadow ground is irrigated through the Central Oregon Irrigation District which holds a 1900 certificated right. Irrigation season starts April 1 with deliveries generally beginning around May 1 and ending October 31. There are 209 acres of flood rights on the property which is fed by five inlet points with water moved throughout the property via a series of dirt ditches. Water delivery ditches and concrete control points need repair and maintenance.
Ponds there are two ponds on the property. The smaller pond is approximately 0.3 acres and is located near the main house. The larger pond is approximately 2.3 acres and according to the owner is 5 (+/-) feet deep.
Well there is one well on the property drilled 420 feet deep in 1976. The well produces 10 gallons per minute (+/-) with the pump set at 399 feet. The static water level is 348 (+/-). The well feeds two concrete cisterns installed with float systems. One cistern is located at the main house and another above the livestock feeding area.
