Located about halfway between the small towns of Midway and Clayton, the Fleming tract has approximately 500 of frontage on State Hwy 51. Once you close the gate behind you, you will immediately sense the solitude of back-country Alabama. The entry road meanders through some beautiful pine plantation for a half mile before arriving at the camp site. The camp is located well off the road to allow easy access throughout the tract and provide plenty of peace and quiet, except for those noisy Gobblers in the spring! Working closely with the property manager, a professional Forester developed and implemented a management plan that strikes the perfect balance between timber production and wildlife habitat. The owners have never cut any of the hardwood stands and the results are impressive. Prescribed burns have been used for many years as a management tool for the timber as well as to improve the habitat for deer, turkey and quail.
