Fisher West Farm's 426 acres has some of the most fertile soil in the state of Texas. This area known as the Blackland Prairie consist of deep rich soil and is well suited to row crop cultivation or growing excellent grass for grazing. Per the NRCS soil map, the farm is categorized as 85-90% prime farmland. This very productive farm has excellent drainage consisting mostly of Class II and III Crockett, Annona loam, silty loam and Wilson soils. Crop production consist of Corn, Milo, Wheat, Soybeans and Cotton.
The Farm is a dryland farm with no current irrigation although there are pivots in the area. The farm receives an average yearly rainfall of 47-49 inches. Scattered throughout the West Farm are 3 ponds that provide water for the rich wildlife populations throughout the farm. Several of the ponds provide great fishing for largemouth bass. The farm is rich in wildlife including Whitetail deer, wild hogs, ducks, geese, and other wild game.
