Considering that the entire state of Arizona is home to a total of 35,000 and neighboring Utah's elk herd is estimated elk population is 68,000 elk, the concentration of elk located on the Spring Gulch Ranch and surrounding GMUs is almost unbelievable! The advantage of being located in such a high density of elk is that the CPW is liberal with the allocation of elk tags over the counter tags are available for Archery and 2nd & 3rd Rifle Seasons. Muzzle-loader and 1st Rifle season can be drawn with zero to 2 preference points. A bonus is that GMU 13 is a B-Unit, giving hunters the availability of harvesting an additional cow elk! Owner/owners, guests, or clients will have excellent opportunities harvesting elk or simply viewing elk on Spring Gulch Ranch. Mule deer should not be over shadowed by the immense elk herd located in this area. Mule deer are rebounding and flourishing from previous hard winter kills. Predators such as Bears, Mountain Lion, Bobcats, are also flourishing on the Spring Gulch Ranch with the abundance of game located on the ranch and in the surrounding area.

The Main log cabin has the comforts of home. Two levels and a basement will provide plenty of room for guests. Electric heated, wood stove, appliances, (washer / dryer/ refrigerator/ stove) supply all the amenities for comfort after enjoying all the outdoors has to offer. The lower (Homestead) cabin located on the property provide propane heat stove and wood fire place. You can work on projects or safely secure your equipment the 40 x 60 Metal Barn.

Located 35 minutes from Craig, Colorado and only a little over 1 hour from Steamboat Springs with world class skiing. Two-thirds of the scenic Dinosaur National Monument is in Moffat County, with its scenic vistas that some call "the little Grand Canyon." It's a beautiful place to hike, camp, horseback ride or catch some intense rapids on the Green or Yampa River.

Moffat County boasts one of the last remaining herds of wild mustangs in Sandwash Basin, which is also a popular spot for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts.
