Topography and Geography
Backbone Mountain Ranch is perched above one of the most popular Recreation Communities in the Highland Lakes, Kingsland Texas. The unique topography is part of a larger Geologic formation known as Backbone Ridge. The South end of the Ranch features the highest point on the entire ridge known as "Bald Knob" (1326') and this peak offers some of the most Spectacular Views in all of the Hill Country. Looking South the main body of Lake LBJ lies in the Valley below. Shift your gaze a little to the East, and the unmistakeable profile of Blanco County's Shovel Mountain is clearly visible. If you re-align yourself more to the West, Llano County'sPacksaddle Mountain towers above the Llano River. Standing on Bald Knob looking North West the Ranch lays in front of you with Mill Creek bisecting 2 peaks (1184' and 1212') before draining into the Colorado River below.

Live Water
Multiple springs run up and down Mill Creek, and are easily spotted by the large Spanish Oak, Pecan and Live Oak trees that tower above the natural irrigation the springs provide. The evidence of Mill Creek's unrelenting flow are apparent in the waterfall formations the mineral rich water has helped deposit and shape over an unimaginable amount of time. Although there is power available on the Ranch there is no well, Mill Creek is the only water source the cattle grazing this ranch have ever needed. Information gathered from the State Well Logs show neighboring properties with very strong Ground Water (30-50 GPM)
