What a Beautiful Ranch! A Sportsman’s Paradise, offering everything that Northwest Oklahoma has to offer - trophy whitetail, Rio Grande turkey, wild boar, quail, and waterfowl. The property should even have elk occasionally as nearby ranches have produced some giant bulls over the years. The ranch lies on the South Canadian River and extends north into the Red Cedar Canyons. The northern end of the ranch is home to the highlight of the property - a beautiful spring-fed lake approximately 23 acres in size. Very few lakes of this size exist in the northwest quadrant of the state. There are also 2 nice-sized ponds on the east side. In the central part of the property is a 56-acre crop field currently planted to wheat. The field is bordered by a live creek on the north, and it’s framed with beautiful hardwoods such as oaks, cottonwoods, elms, and China berries. These hardwoods serve as roost...
These hardwoods serve as roost trees for a large winter flock of Rio Grande turkeys. It’s easy to imagine a group of gobblers flying down on the wheat and showing off on a spring morning. The deer hunting is equally amazing. The ranch has been well-managed and has produced some great bucks over the years. Make sure to check out the deer and turkey pictures. The ranch has excellent access, bordering Highway 183 on the east and Lenora Rd. on the south. It has an extremely nice, and well-made lodge/barndominium surrounded by beautiful hardwoods. The lodge has everything needed for a home and would make an amazing hunting camp. The front portion has a kitchen w/appliances, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The back portion offers a ton of storage. A portion of the ranch burned in the Spring of 2018. It improved the northern ranchland pasture significantly, resulting in thick native grass. Some areas in the Cedar canyons burned leaving chest-high cover in those bottoms and creating excellent deer bedding. The hardwood trees in the burned areas are already tall and coming back strong. The southern portion of the ranch has South Canadian River frontage. It’s extremely thick and wooly with excellent deer cover, such as Pampas and Switch Grass meadows, Plum-thickets, Tamarack, Cedars, and Cottonwood. This portion of the ranch is very secluded and untapped, all the way to the banks of the South Canadian River - a river well-known for producing monster whitetails. The river bottom has a very unique saturated water table that lies 5’-6’ below the surface. Some of our more recent buyers have opened up shallow warm-water sloughs creating fantastic duck hunting locations in the winter. When you combine everything this ranch has to offer - the variety of wildlife, the river, the lake, the lodge, the crop-field, the live creek, spring-fed, the highway frontage, this might be the perfect recreational tract. And only 1 1/2hrs. from OKC! It would be hard to find a more ascetically pleasing recreational property. As you can see from the various harvest photos, this family has enjoyed decades of memories here. Now it’s your turn. Don’t hesitate to contact the listing agent with any questions, or to view this beautiful place!
