Madera Canyon Ranch water...
Madera Canyon Ranch waters from seasonal rains into Madera Creek, three wells, two spring fed surface tanks, and most unique: live spring water on tap at the headquarters from Kingston Spring. It has a stronger flow from Dark Canyon Spring, and other smaller springs throughout the ranch. Wells and springs provide year round consistent water for wildlife and livestock. A balanced ranch, Madera extends from lush mountain canyons to brushy low country, to typical rockier Trans-Pecos plains. Madrone trees, oaks, cottonwood, pinon pines, with acacia, cenizo, sumac, cedar, agave, stool, white brush with heavy grasses of grama and bristle grasses round out a healthy habitat. The habitat acreage to purchased acreage ratio for Madera Canyon Ranch is high at 1.6 giving more acreage for use by wildlife in return for the invested dollar.
The Ranch has much to offer to the avid outdoorsman. Texas mule deer, Aoudad sheep, blue/scaled quail, free-roaming elk, wild turkey, hogs, grey fox, bobcats, antelope, javelina, and mountain lions live here. A Mecca for bird watchers is Madera Canyon Ranch.
Madera Canyon Ranch holds a well maintained network of roads for access to the high country and traveling the low country.
