The Area:

Maynard is a small town with a population under 500 people. The entire county has a population of under 19,000 and over 6,500 of those live in Pocahontas, the county seat. The area is mostly used for raising livestock, hunting, and other recreational uses. This valley lies between Fourche and Current rivers and there are many size able creeks in area feeding both these rivers. Robert Hankins/Mud Creek Wildlife Management Area has over 1,000 acres and just north in Missouri is the Mark Twain National Forest providing lots of outdoor opportunities.
