Griffin Lake is playa lake basin in northern Haskell County, just a half mile south of the Knox County border. It is accessed by CR 276, only 3/4 mile from the paved State Highway 277. The property is about halfway between the towns of Munday and Weinert.

The lake's level will vary with rainfall, from filling all 80 surface acres and backing up water across the county road, to a dry, clay bed in the droughts. The lake is fed by a natural draw coming through the fields to the north, as well as county road drainages coming from the east and west. Overall, the whole 80 acre lake basin is considered a "wetland", with tall grasses, cattails, salt cedars, and willows.
