This is a new listing of the +/-79.58-acre "Finklea Tract" located in north Monroe County east of the community of Franklin. Historic River Road runs through the tract as shown on the attached maps. The property is located on a red hill ridge and is heavily timbered with primarily 25+ year loblolly pine, with some hardwood located in the drain areas. There is a servicable woods road that allows truck and ATV access to the north side. Game plots are located north and south of River Road as illustrated in the aerial photograph.
The topography is flat on the main ridge and drops off rather steeply in places. A small acreage on the steep slopes on this tract should be considered as Red Hill Salamander habitat. Timber harvesting is restricted in these areas, and would be in any event if the Best Management Practices for Timber Harvesting are followed for cutting on steep slopes.
