Stepping in the side door, enter the large 9x15 mudroom which houses the washer and dryer and leads into the barn and into a gourmet kitchen that stretches the notion of an antique home without losing a sense of its heritage. Brazilian Cherry floors compliment the brown granite countertops and the antique beams that were added to ceiling and mantle lend character and ambience. Other amenities include an island with double copper farmers sink, new bay window, high end appliances, and plenty of beautiful, quality cabinets. The kitchen was completed gutted and rebuilt and thoroughly insulated. Two beveled glass French doors at either end of the kitchen lead to the dining room and mudroom.

From the kitchen enter the dining room, which is spacious enough to accommodate large family gatherings, and then onto the warm and inviting living room; the wood stove will stave off the chill of the coming fall nights.

On the first floor, in addition to the renovated half bath, a second full bath was created which can only be described as spa like. The focal point is the striking nickel lined copper soaking tub which invites you to relax, luxuriously. Two separate vanities, which are retrofitted antique oak dressers with custom shaped black granite tops and honey onyx vessels, are on opposite sides of the room. Some built ins and a fanciful antique fireplace grill add to the tone of the room. There is a separate shower for when you are on the go.

Mount the wide staircase to the second floor where new built in shelving lines one wall of the hallway. Here youll find four large bedrooms and a renovated three quarter bath. Many windows have been replaced throughout the house with custom Low E argon, true divided light windows.

Continue on to the third floor and youll discover a real treasure, the newly created library. A sub panel was added to accommodate current and future electrical needs for all the third floor rooms. Here again the room was gutted, insulated, sheet rocked and all wall built in shelving was added. New windows and carpeting were added creating a very comfortable, cozy and quiet space.

Throughout the house new lighting fixtures and ceiling fans were added, four chimneys were lined with aluminum and capped. The farmers porch was rebuilt including supports, decking and ballasts. The entire house was painted in 2010. New wiring and new metal roofing on barn and shed was done. In the barn, the underpinnings of the stall area were redone and electricity was run to the barn.

Two 18x16 outbuildings with metal roofing and underground electric and water were constructed as well as a Post and Beam building for a farm stand.

A potting shed was built by the gardens as well as a wood shed, at the back of the house, which serves as a summer hen house.

The trails through the back end of the property are wide and grassy, and the land is level to gently sloping. The farm stand is conveniently located near the side door of the house making it easy to keep an eye on things.

Sovereignty Farm has potential beyond what is offered here. It would also be a great location for an in home office/business with the proper permits.
