As you approach the home from the driveway you’ll immediately notice that the yard surrounding the home was beautifully and professionally landscaped to complement the native species and environment. The sod and shrubbery is irrigated with underground water stingy drip-lines for ease of maintenance. Native female buffalo grass was utilized for the lawn because it does not grow unsightly seed heads and for its low water requirements. Leading you to the front entry there is a dramatic limestone staircase with cobbled limestone sidewalks. Midway up the staircase is a landing inviting you to stop and take in the beauty of the bluffs, rock outcroppings and wide open panoramas that unfold thanks to the strategic placement of the home. On a clear day you will be thrilled by views of Pikes Peak to the south, the Snowy Range to the east and Laramie Peak to the northwest.
To match the dramatic setting and landscaping, the front entry opens into the great room where a gorgeous 2 story limestone block fireplace seizes center stage. The limestone blocks were hand cut and set by one of the few remaining stone artisans and it’s beautifully obvious. The firebox is oversized (4 feet wide and 3 deep) to match the towering rock fireplace and is equipped with double doors, removable grill, kettle hooks and thermostatically controlled circulating air fans. The main areas of the home can be comfortably heated with the fireplace alone and chuck wagon style meals can be cooked over the fire if the urge strikes you.
Immediately you will notice the vaulted ceilings with massive solid wood beams evoking a western flavor and charm. This western flavor and charm is consistent throughout the 2,770 meticulously finished square feet. This home boasts master bedroom and bath, two additional bedrooms, one bathroom, large living room, dining room, kitchen, and office. In addition to the marvelous home there is a guest residence finished in the same manner. The guest residence is comprised of a beautifully finished living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
