This family farm has hosted cross-country skiers, exchange students, snow sled enthusiasts from Virginia Tech, Connecticut, and countless visitors from other states and continents. While visiting they can enjoy the panoramic views of Canadian fields and hills as well as many cultivated trees and farmland which abound in view of the porches, and deck. Family reunions, faculty picnics, Thanksgiving meals, and Christmases have been celebrated for decades in the spacious country kitchen. The traditions and memories that surround this farm are relished by all that have visited here.

The appearance of moose, deer, bears, and other wild life has made this a treasured place in the hearts of many. The grandchildren will miss the giant "thinking tree" where its okay to just sit and be at peace with the world. Berries, apples, field roads with natures surprises, and miles to hike and to bike have made this a playground for this loving home. The old folks enjoy just sitting and remembering the laughter that echoed from the soft hills and valley of the Bubar Home."
