The River 523.76-Acre Tract is located seven miles northeast of Prescott. It has about 1,800 feet frontage on the Little Missouri River on the north. Access is via county gravel roads and woods roads.

There are about 288 acres of merchantable timber on the tract, which consists of 260 acres of pure hardwood and 28 acres of mixed pine and hardwood. Species composition consists of mature red oak and miscellaneous hardwood species.

There are also about 186 acres of pine plantation. A plantation planted in 1999 covers about 126 acres. A plantation planted in 2007 covers about 60 acres. Overall, both plantations are well-stocked.

There is also about 28 acres of non-forested areas on the property, which consist of roads, utility right-of-ways, and areas typically covered by water.
