Update on U.S. 287 Bypass Project planned expansion/widening of HWY 287. The highway project will expand the U.S. 287 Bypass from State Highway 34 to Interstate 45.
The goal is to expand the highway from two lanes to a divided four lanes with frontage roads. It is not yet decided whether the lanes will be divided by a grassy median or a concrete barrier.
The HWY expansion project is currently in its initial planning stages, with a projected date of February 2016.
