The tract was clearcut, then site prepared with a chemical spray in the fall of 2007. It was then planted in February of 2008 with Arbor Gen Elite pine seedlings. Visual inspection shows that the property is well stocked and the pines stand about 10 feet tall with some natural pine saplings mixed in with the planted trees. This tract should provide great long term timber growth investment.
The topography of the tract is gently rolling with Kirvin fine sandy loams. The NRCS Web Soil Survey reports the average site index for Loblolly Pine at 83 feet (base age 50). These good soils make this an excellent site for long term timber investment. In addition to timber, the property has good hunting and recreational value.
