Established in 1885, the Robinson Ranch grounds feature two vintage rock houses, both equally charming and rustic. The one-story, old homestead was built in the 1880s by the Robinson Family. A more recent home is the commanding 2-story rock home built in the 1930s and is near the main springs. Both display prevalent historic style in the Hill Country, with design elements favoring those of European settlers to the area. The 2-story home has a formal living room featuring a fireplace, formal dining room, small kitchen and two bedrooms. The original settlers, the Tom Phelps Family, had a home and corn field near the springs, but it has since disappeared. A fascinating account of the demise of Tom Phelps and his wife while fishing in the creek resulted in a neighborhood posse rising to action, noted in Texas History as the Battle of Deer Creek.
