Wildlife: The property is located in the Heppner Unit for Deer and the Ritter unit for elk. Elk numbers in the area are excellent and elk and deer sign can be found throughout the property. This is a great high mountain piece that stays green late into the year which offers great feed to the elk and deer. I have seen elk and deer on the piece a few times and spending just a short time on the property will convince anyone that they are there. Good turkey populations are here as well as blue and ruffed grouse.
USFS: USFS borders the property on the east boundary.
General Observations: This property sits on top of a mountain with commanding views in all directions. A county road to the property gives great access while not inhibiting the property. Timber, wildlife, and views make this a great piece to use and enjoy. The property qualifies for a building permit in the primary forest zoning laws of Grant county but should be checked into personally by a prospective buyer. The middle fork of the John Day river is a few miles south and the North Fork is a few miles north so you can enjoy fishing and rafting at certain times of the year. Also Ritter Hot springs is a few miles to the west of the property if you follow the county road.
