The ponds were originally used to grow catfish and the locals remember the days when you could pay by the pound for the catfish you could catch. Those days are now past, and the ponds have been exclusively private for well over a decade allowing healthy populations of Bass and Bream to be established. There is a pole barn near the ponds and another barn on the east side of the lake for equipment storage with power on site.
