Black Mountain ranch has a wide diversity of feed and is situated at an elevation of 4,400' to 5,375'. Predominant feed is Tobosa with Chamise, Sage, Mesquite, Sacaton, Vine Mesquite, Bush Muhly and some Gramas. There is a total of 784.3+/- acres of deeded land with 464+/- acres at the HQ. Includes 13,822+/- acres of State of NM grazing lease, 640*/- acres of BLM, 2,560+/- acres of adverse grazing which includes 2,080+/- acres of the National Guard Rifle Range (currently not in use) and 480+/- acres of private adverse land. The carrying capacity of the ranch is 220 AU year long.
The headquarters includes a 2 BR, 2 BA, site built home; a 2 BR, 1 BA, 1979 single wide manufactured home; workshop; steel and wood shipping corrals with a hydraulic squeeze chute; tack room; seed house and large barn.
