Built in 1890s and remodeled in 1998 and watered with "8 hours" from the Monticello Ditch Association (former in 1890) and a great sweet water well. 3 miles down the canyon is the Village of Monticello, a group of Spanish dwellings that were built to support the Fort Ojo Caliente and Apache Reservation. Weekends will find festivals, great food, and some shopping. The major shopping and supply center is in the town of Truth or Consequences (30 min) and Albuquerque International Airport is 2.5 hours North. The ranch routinely receives 10 elk tags and private land deer tags are over the counter. The hunting ground is accessed through 3-recorded easements from Alamosa Creek that remain locked at all times. Every possible amenity has been added to enhance the population and quality of the game animals. Feedlots have been improved and used to attract large numbers of target species. On an average day in August you will see 20 bucks and 65 does and 5 bulls and 15-20 cows.
