This 169 acre farm is used for recreation and hunting presently. Property is located in the heart of Fluvanna County near Palmyra and is approximately 25 minutes from Charlottesville. There are seven different pastures that could easily be used for crops or food plot fields with tree lines and stands of mature timber separating them. The timber is a good mix of white oaks, red oaks and beech. Also there is a mix of pine and cedar making great bedding area for the wildlife. The land is level in spots but has a great roll to it at the same time providing a change of scenery as you go through the property. The property is completely accessible. A road takes you from the entrance along the edge of 5 fields before going down the hill and crossing the creek (creek has a hard bottom allowing it to be driven through) entering another field then entering into a nice hardwood stand, as you meander through the timber you will enter another field and then there is a small hidden field at the end. This is a great hunting/recreation track but could be a really nice place to make home.
The area which is now Fluvanna County was once part of Henrico County, one of the original shires of the Virginia Colony. Henrico was divided in 1727 and the Fluvanna County area became a part of Goochland County. In 1744 Goochland was divided and the area presently known as Fluvanna became a part of Albemarle County. Finally, in 1777, Albemarle County was divided and Fluvanna County established. The County was named for the Fluvanna River, the name given to James River west of Columbia. Fluvanna means "Annie's River" in honor of Queen Anne of England. When Palmyra was made the county seat in 1828 it quickly became a thriving town after the new courthouse was completed in 1830. While Palmyra has changed and modernized over the years, it still possesses an aura of tranquility.
