The property is very diverse and not very many ranches in this (canyon country) of Chautauqua and Cowley County can boast having the tillable land that this Ranch offers. The headquarters sits atop the highest point on the Ranch and overlooks most of its 1249 acres. The tree lined bluffs that fall down to the River are some of the most wildlife rich areas you can find for miles around. Wild Turkeys and Whitetail Deer are plentiful and this area of the state is one of the top producing trophy buck areas you will find. Not a single trip to the ranch have I made yet that I didn't count numerous deer especially in the evenings.

The Big Caney River that winds thru the ranch has several deep holes that can hold some mighty big catfish for some summertime fishing fun. The water that runs out of these flint hills grass pastures come down into the river as clean fresh water and serves as a dual purpose water source for cattle and wildlife. The ranch had a pumping permit several years ago from the state to irrigate the crops in the adjoining tillable fields. This ability to possibly pump again could be very very beneficial to water the corn/beans, or alfalfa you choose to grow.

The Ranch has a calving shed nestled at the bottom of the bluff with some pipe pens and cattle water tanks in place. A few small improved grass pasture traps are set up to keep calving cows close and easy to check on during the typical Feb and March calving season.

There is a shallow water well located near the river that has been pumping clean fresh water since the 1930s to the cattle water tanks as well as up the bluff to a 100,000 gallon water tank that sits up on a high spot and gravity flows back to all the plumbing for the house and barns. This water system is in great shape and still used today but the rural water days came along so the ranch is also hooked to the rural water and with the switch of a valve you can use either the well water from the 100,000 gallon holding tank or the rural water.

The Ranch headquarters date back 100+ years with the old original part of the home still in good shape, and the bunk house that the cowboys used is still located just off of the main home. The house has had a few additions over the years and now comes complete with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The Haden Ranch was the birthplace of the famous Kansas Klipper tree shear and the property housed the manufacturing of these units for a number of years until Mr Joel Haden sold the business. The shop buildings where they built these units are in great shape and are perfect for a wood or metal working shop. They consist of a 30x50 insulated shop with concrete floor and an overhead bridgecrane. Attached on the back is a 28x50 lean to with concrete floor and an overhead bridgecrane as well. Next to it is a 24x20 insulated (paintshop) complete with concrete and an overhead bridgecrane. Also at the headquarters is an original 1930s large barn that except for some new paint is in excellent condition. The West 15 ft has been partitioned off and enclosed as a wood shop while overhead of the woodshop was built for a storage loft. This barn adjoins the pipe corrals with the old automatic cattle water tanks in place. A few other older structures are still standing that all tell us a tale of the working cattle ranch this place has been for the last century.
