Rare Historical home with Texas Marker on 118+ acres. Home has been in family since approximately 1875. House originally built about 1875 of materials available in the area. Foundation was of rock piers and cedar log beams 24 in diameter. Floor joists were of 10 x 12 logs. All plates and joists are cedar logs that are mortised and doweled. Rafters were of 26 foot cedar logs. Original outside wall covering of cypress clapboard was replaced during later restoration with specially milled pine. Two fireplaces, one on each end of the house, originally used to heat the home. Floors are of pine except dog run and gallery which were of cedar. Stairs are original and wholly of cedar. Original lighting was lamps and candles but lamps have now been electrified. Modern conveniences (range, refrigerator, etc.) which have been added are hidden so as not to disturb primitive look and feel. All colors were retained where painted originally and the outside, which has never been painted, has been stained with weathered wood color for preservation.

Furnishings have been kept primitive, collected and restored in keeping with the period of the old house, and most are included in the sale.
