The Arkansas River forms the western boundary of the overall Land’s End Plantation ownership. The rich soil of the Arkansas River Delta is among the most productive soil in the country. When approaching Land’s End Plantation on Arkansas Highway 161, the straight road through flat fields is dramatically transformed and shaded by a line of pecan trees on both sides of the road, which have grown to form a canopy. These trees were planted by James Robert Alexander around 1900 and provide a striking contrast to the surrounding fields. There are approximately 125 trees on the residential compound and 266 trees within the agricultural grounds. All trees have been professionally managed by the ownership and commercially harvested annually.
Although the plantation is many thousands of acres in its entirety, the area currently offered for sale consists of over 1,813 (+/-) acres, the centerpiece of the plantation is 21.6 (+/-) acres and consists of a large three story Tudor Revival style house (6,700 (+/-) square feet), with a two-story garage, servants’ quarters, and ancillary and stone site features. The historic plantation residence is encased by a beautiful 100-year old pecan orchard. The orchard has iron and wood fencing, cross fencing, horse barns and plenty of room for horses.
The remaining 1,797 (+/-) acres is an exceptional, fully functioning agricultural operation for the production of soybeans, rice, wheat, sweet/field corn and green beans. Together these two tracts comprise a remarkably intact example of an early 20th century Arkansas plantation.
