General Description: This scenic ranch has a diverse terrain ranging from productive creek bottoms to rough and broken elevated ridges. Red Mud Creek meanders through the west section of this ranch, entering the northwest corner and exiting the south-central side of that section. This property has a dramatic elevation change of about 170 feet, ranging from a low of 2,050 feet along the creek bottoms to a high of 2,220 feet being at the peak of the elevated mesa tops.

Many hackberry and large mesquite trees are located along the creek bottom. The grass turf is good, with the primary grasses being blue grama, little bluestem, Arizona cottontop, plains bristlegrass and side-oats grama. Water is provided by one significant sized dirt tank and one well equipped with a solar pump. Due to the extended drought, the dirt tank is currently dry. This is the first time in many years that this tank has been dry.
Hunting: The Daugherty Ranch offers great hunting and cattle ranching opportunities. This area is known to support a good population of big whitetail deer, quail and turkey. Wild hogs are also frequently seen in the area. This ranch has been under the same family ownership for over 50 years and the family has never allowed any hunting on this property.
