The old saying 'Don't judge a book by its cover' applies! This Lake Superior camp has 100+/- feet of pebble and sand beach and a camp with very cozy spaces including the sitting room with the antique caboose wood burning stove and plenty of natural light. The kitchenette and dining area also have their own character with log beams on ceiling, built in cubby areas and pine tongue and groove walls which continue into the sitting room. Upstairs is one open room which has 2 newer windows to making it bright and has a view of the water from one side. There have been many nice updates to this rustic cabin including some newer interior walls and insulation, some newer windows, and newer roof. The beach area is located across the road yet has a buffer of trees to provide privacy. The lake provides such a beautiful setting and fun to enjoy so many water activities...including just watching beautiful sunsets and listening to the waves! The bottom of the lake starts with pebbles and turns to a sandy bottom. Fun! There is a point well with a pump which is located outside of the cabin (not plumbed to camp). There were plans for a composting toilet in the camp with a pipe still in place for it. Take a step back, slow down the fast pace of life and enjoy the camping life in the Keweenaw! When you are brewing your coffee on the stove top.....listening to the roar of the lake...and enjoying a muffin from the Jampot, which is just down the road, you will feel like you are in your own world! NOTE: One of the cabinets shown in the photos located in the kitchen area will be removed and replaced with another cabinet.
